forgiven

THE GOOD NEWS! Yahuah has given us grace so that we can receive forgiveness for our sins. When we reach this level in our path of being restored back to Him, He opens our eyes to our disobedience. We see and then we begin to change. We learn by not allowing Satan to dominate our minds, thus our thoughts, and when it happens, we learn to take that thought captive. Rather than being chained by the thought, we place it into captivity, not to release it again.

What does it mean to be a captive?

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. — Romans 7:23.

Israel was taken into captivity because of their sinful ways. They refused to obey the laws of Yahuah by doing everything but obeying His laws. They became lawless, without affection to please Yah. So much so that in Galatians we read He turned them over to their sins.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. — Romans 1:28

This is what Paul spoke of concerning being captive. We get to a point where we become disgusted with self, do to our own sins. We get sick of them and yet find ourselves unable to stop. Without repentance and a renewal of our minds, we can die in our sins.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. — Romans 12:2

It was prophesied in Isaiah that Yahusha would come to set the captive free.

The Spirit of the Elohim Yahuah is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. Yahusha our Messiah proclaimed Himself to be the one spoken by Isaiah. — Isaiah 61:1

Yahusha revealed it Himself in Luke.

The Ruach haQodesh Yahuah  is upon me because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of Elohim Yahuah. — Luke 4:18-19.

Notice in verse 21 Yahusha proclaims: This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

So you see, Yahusha haMashiach, our Messiah, our savior, came to set us free from the captivity of sin. This is what Yahusha taught in the Gospels, and this is what the Epistles continue to teach. There is a way to remove ourselves from the grip of Satan.

First. Waking up to realize we are in a bad place. I call this Yahuah’s call and conviction. Remember the parable of the prodigal son?

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. — Luke 15:17-19.

Second. Know forgiveness is giving when we truly repent.

And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son (vv. 20-21).

Third. Having received forgiveness and with a heart of true repentance begin to understand what true repentance is. What does it mean to repent? The Greek word for repent is metanoeo. It means to think differently, to reconsider. Repentance is what takes place, it is the action part of the thought. It is the “doing.” Just like sin begins in the mind, so does the desire to repent, to think differently, and to begin to act mentanoia differently.

Fourth, Having begun the way and walk of repentance Yahweh, through His mercy and grace, begins to draw that person into Him, into a life of salvation.

Yahshua said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me.John 14:6

Fifth. This is where Hebrews 12:2 becomes real. Brokenness begins to mend through Yahusha who told us again in Luke 4 that He came to heal the brokenhearted, blind, and imprisoned. He came to set the captive free and to release any yokes that burden us. In His absence, Yahusha sent the Ruach haQodesh to lead us and guide us as we grow to know Him.

Six. As we gain strength we grow into maturity. By studying and meditating on the Word of Yah we become like trees planted by rivers of living water where our roots begin to take form into the likeness of Yahusha. Growing into a relationship with Yahusha becomes our one desire.

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirsts, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spoke He of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Yahusha was not yet glorified.) John 7:37-39

Seventh. By the gifting of the Holy Spirit, the Ruach haQodesh:

“that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”  — Eph 5:26-27.

Clean:

katharizō Having cleansed translates katharisas, to cleanse, i.e., the removal of impurities from whatever is cleansed. The Holy Spirit cleanses the believer from the fallen nature in Adam: Adamic nature, carnality, sin nature, in which we were conceived. It is significant to note that when an aspect of salvation is in mind, katharizō (Mat. 8:2) is always used for the cleansing work of the believer; when the sinner is saved from sin, dikaioō (Rom. 8:30) is always used. It is for a reason you have been driven to read this blog. And not only read it but you have read it through to the end. There is a reason for this. There is a reason you no longer want Satan to have control of you and your life.

Perhaps this is the reason:

For as many as are led by the Spirit of Yahuah, they are the sons (daughters) of Yahuah. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of Yah. And if children, then heirs; heirs of Yah, and joint-heirs with Yahusha; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. — Romans 8:14-17.

Back To The Beginning

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Yah which is in Yahusha haMashiach. Romans 8:38-39

If you did not belong to Yah, you would not have felt your life in peril. You would not concern yourself with your sinful life. Many times, Israel refused to listen. When they repented, they were forgiven. Yah forgave. That’s a powerful revelation! They were forgiven of their sins! The same is true for the broken sinner today. Live on in the living waters Yahusha and let nothing separate you from the love of Yahuah. By this Satan may knock and try to enter your mind but having taken on your whole armor you proceed in faith, you endure, and you persevere in the Kingdom of Yahuah.
